Embracing the responsibility of pet ownership, particularly of a dog, is a significant commitment. Yet, it’s also a source of immense joy. As the owner of two dogs and a foster parent to many others, I’ve experienced the unconditional love they offer, as I’m sure many others have as well.
However, not every city is ideal for our canine companions. For various reasons, such as limited green space and parks and a lack of veterinarian resources, having a pet that requires a lot of exercise and time spent outdoors is not always possible.
A recent study considered specific metrics to determine which US cities are best for dog ownership. These included the number of dog parks in the town, whether rental properties are biased toward certain breeds, and whether hotels and eateries are dog-friendly. The methodology resulted in these top 15 spots.
